In early spring of 2006, the UK Department of Health commissioned Bridge Consulting International in partnership with Judge Business School to perform an in-depth assessment of the key organisational challenges within its Senior Leadership Team, Finance & Investment Group and Strategy & Policy Group.

Bridge Partners came to the Department of Health to conduct initial interviews. After several months of research, the Bridge team complied a comprehensive report and programme design that was presented to Hugh Taylor - the Acting Permanent Secretary of the Department. This recommended design is currently being implemented within the DH.

Recently, Bridge has been asked to design and propose a series of master classes geared toward helping the Department prepare for an upcoming capability review. In addition, Bridge is currently being retained to develop several additional programmes based on the initial assessment work.

In November 2008, Bridge Consulting designed and ran an Accelerated Design Session that engaged 120 of the Department's top corporate leaders in the development of their future strategy. Prior to the event, Bridge had worked with the Director General and his top team to gain an understanding of the complex challenges facing the Directorate, and identify key themes around which business change could be shaped. This allowed the Bridge team to design and deliver a very successful event that utilised acceleration techniques and innovative collaborative methods to enable participants to build consensus and agree a set of concrete steps for delivering the business.

Bridge's approach enabled the Department to agree and decide more on our future strategy in a single day than would have been possible over several months of conventional meetings.
